Have 1 spot left for a keeper. I'd give up a late draft pick for either one. Standard roto league. I love Gordon's speed, but Happ is a great young prospect with a ton of potential. Interested to hear what others would do in this situation.

It's Dee for me. He can carry you in speed.

Having him in a roto league would be huge. You wouldn't have to worry about speed with any other bats.

Dee slightly over Happ due to proven commodity.

I'm biased here, but Gordon is about to be on the wrong side of 30. Speed tends to decline from there on. Speed can be found on the wire throughout the season.

Happ is 23 with monster potential. I'd go with him.

Hey at least I started it off by saying that I'm biased.

Dude said standard in OP. So I assume that’s BA.

Gordon should be ahead of Happ in BA, R, SBs. That’s three of the five hitting categories. So it’s not ...

Keep Gordon, re-draft Happ.

Not if Happ bats leadoff, which its looking like he might.

If so, Happ will be better than Gordon in R.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like Gordon is the current favorite.

I have thought about:

Keep Gordon, re-draft Happ

and will look to do this, but obviously Happ's draft spot will be much higher this year and so his keeper eligibility will never be as favorable as it is now. But definitely worth looking at it.

Key word here. A lot of uncertainty surrounding Happ outside of his skills.

Gordon scored 114 runs last year (I think career high) with Yelich, Stanton and Ozuna behind him.

This year he has Cano, Seager and Nelly.

The run total would be close between the two if Happ leads off. Probably negligible.

I can't stop thinking about players like Jacoby Ellsbury, who were stealing bases like Gordon has been, only to hit the other side of 30 and decline drastically to the point of not even being rosterable. That's not saying that Gordon will for sure go that route, but without speed, Gordon has no value at all.

Jacoby Ellsbury

Ellsbury had to stop running bc he was always hurt I reckon

I’d try and trade one of those guys if that’s possible. Trade Gordon for a pick since he’s more attractive or package both for an upgrade

Well shite, players over 30 tend to get hurt more often. Kinda goes with my point.

I'm sure Gordon will be fine in 2018, and may even outperform Happ this season. But I think it's close even if he does. In a keeper league like this dude is playing in, give me the guy that is 7 years younger that is only going to get better over a player who needs his speed to continue to be relevant for the next few years.
