Jonathan Taylor- Pro- in his prime and arguably the best back in football from a measurable standpoint. Con- doesn't catch the ball much and has awful stat splits in wins and losses

James Cook- Pro- Best weapon on a really good offense. Con- Allen vultures a lot of goal line touchdowns

Devon Achane- Pro- arguably the most dynamic player in the league. Con- probably the worst team in the league and despite the relatively clean bill of health the last two years, still 190 pounds

Chase Brown- Pro- Should be one of the highest scoring offenses in the league and catches the ball well. Con- is 5 receiving touchdowns repeatable?

Derrick Henry- Pro- from another planet. Con- Coaching staff tends to forget that

Saquon Barkley- Pro- In the Taylor tier as far as measurables go, no more AJB crying for the football. Con- Hurts stealing touchdowns, mystery on how well the eagles perform under yet another new coordinator

Ashton Jeanty- Pro- Opportunity. Con- Team should suck again

With these guys I think it’s all a matter of personal preference. I’d rank them:

Cook
Achane
Taylor
Brown
Jeanty
Barkley
Henry

I have Taylor and Cook in a tier above the others. IMO, the others are basically interchangeable, but I don’t like Achane this year, he’s been arse when he doesn’t have Tua checking down to him all game.

I do too, and both should fall to me and I'm a bit torn on which one to take

And barring an unforeseen draft I'll end up with two of the guys in OP

Had a draft this past weekend. I had 12. Cook, saquon and Taylor were gone. I took Brown at 2.1. Next 3 picks were Achane, Jeanty and Henry in that order.

Usually in a situation like that, I tend to favor the player on the better offense. But this offseason I’ve wavered back and forth on who I have above who between those 2, so I’d probably just make a gut decision when I was on the clock.

For the 5 others, Brown is probably the safest, and Jeanty probably has the most upside. I also have Hampton in that tier, and I kinda like him the most of them because I think the charger’s offense is going to be really good.

Excellent players running behind good OL with minimal competition to take meaningful touches. These are 1st round picks IMO

1) Taylor
2) Cook
3) Saquon

Have at least one question mark that drops their floor behind the tier above
4) Jeanty - Should get bellcow touches. Offense may not be great, but gets a shot in the arm from multiple angles (Kubiak, Mendoza, improved OL).
5) Brown - Good role on excellent offense. Will always play 2nd fiddle to Chase and the passing game. Addition of under center run game should offset any receiving loss.
6) Achane - Biggest boom/bust here. Is the offense nonfunctional? We've seen him succeed in below-average contexts before.
7) Henry - age/offense change/traditional lack of receiving work puts him at the bottom of the tier for me.

FWIW, I would have Ken Walker squarely in tier 2 above - definitely over Henry, and probably over Achane as well.
