You all worried or will it help? A good wide out can help a slot guy

Feels like Evans is going to be hurt more by this.

I’m a Godwin and AB owner. I wasn’t fazed in the least.

Godwin and AB play two different positions. Godwin is a primary slot possession receiver playing underneath routes and converting short and medium yardage. Godwin is a Z receiver. AB is a true X receiver, which he will play in this offense. This offense is incredibly similar to the ones run in Pittsburgh, bc the current Pitt offense has its passing schemes based on what Bruce Arians developed there when he was OC. AB will come in and play immediately and his production will be similar to Evan’s last year on a per game basis, but probably much more consistent than Evans is bc he’s far less effected by the coverage on him

I think Evans is hurt the worst here. 1) Evans is obviously playing hurt. He might even take time off with AB taking his current X receiver role. 2) Evans probably switches to the Y receiver role. He’ll still get his deep targets and his big body targets when healthy. But the Y receiver role generally gets less targets in the offense, with more big plays when successful. Mike Wallace and Martavis Bryant and I believe Emmanuel Sanders all were Y receivers in this basic offense. Wallace and Bryant were considered home run guys for sure. Evans is probably a more natural fit for the home run role with some unique red zone usage bc of his body type and speed and lack of pristine route running skill. 3) Evans will get less targets with AB absorbing a lot of targets. Slot roles tend to get the same amount of targets in an offense even when the receivers change around, and Brady has favored the slot for a long time

TLDR: Godwin and AB good, Evans bad
