There is also no penalty in the off-season, since you aren't gaining stats anyway. So, it's a loophole... it's an illegal roster, but with no games being played, there is no penalty.
I don't know if Fantrax will let a team make off-season pickups with an illegal lineup, so this might mean a team has to lock their roster in order to take advantage.

No the penalty of lost stats indicates the spirit of the rule. If we wanted to clear out DL's at the end of the year we would have said so explicidly. The way the rule is stated allows for exactly what was intended, which is you are allowed to carry your players through the offseason and have to right the situation before opening day.

I have it set up in such a way that you can NOT pick up players if your roster is illegal.

So to clarify, if someone wanted to make an add/drop during the offseason, they would have to get their lineup completely legal, which would mean removing all players from the DL.

I find all those ranking useless because they are for baseball not fantasy baseball. They tend to drop the pants at any up the middle position that might flash the slightest bit of power.

Prospects 361 has a good top 100 based on fantasy. Those guys put a lot of time into it too.
