Some smoke on Padres seriously interested in Pablo Sandoval.

Time to start the engines on the Travis Shaw 3B pain train.

Now would be a good time for some rankings. Has anybody done any since we drafted?

actually that is what i thought when i first looked at his stats. his HR numbers arent there yet but they say that sound the ball makes off his bat is that of the elite

That ole bat sound metric is solid gold.

So are off season workouts that produce the "best shape of my career". I'm just kidding, but I see this bat stuff all the time and I think if you looked closely at it you'd find that it's not predictive...people only remember the guys that were really good that had the "sound" and forget all the failures.

8. TTT - Hyun-Soo Kim
9. Rondo - Byung-ho Park

quote:

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal hears from a source that Hyun-soo Kim is not expected to make the Orioles' Opening Day roster.
This has become increasingly obvious, as Kim is batting just .182 with no extra-base hits this spring and has been held out of the Orioles' Grapefruit League lineup over the past three days. There has been some chatter about the Orioles potentially returning him to the KBO, but Rosenthal hears that he's believed to be willing to go to Triple-A. The Orioles can't send him to the minors without his consent. Mar 29 - 3:36 PM

Byung-ho Park hit his third homer in four games Friday off the Marlins' Andre Rienzo.
Park struck out in all three of his at-bats in his first appearance of the spring. Since then, he's 6-for-16 with a total of three more strikeouts
