Growing up we had a place near Fayette MS...shot a lot of deer and turkeys out there.

I am hoping little man is interested and we can trek down during hunting season once he's older.
I can also pull muzzleloader elk tags in CO now but won't have the time off since I start new Monday. Maybe next year.

The battery died on the master cam that transmits the pics so I'm trying to find a weekend to run down and reload...my son bugs me for pics everyday. He's 6 and is obsessed.

Hunting with my kids turned out to be way more fun/gratifying than I expected.

I think Fayette is about an hour south of Natchez...same woods and topography. Our place avoided the clear cut monster and had a lot of nice mature oak ridges and bottoms.

I have friends that hunted there. I'm about 30 miles south of there. Another great area.

It's huge IMO. I have a hard time motivating my boy, but he'll jump in the truck to go to the camp. When he finally clocked in a few weeks ago you'd have thought he won the Superbowl.

My kid loves being outside, so hopefully I can keep that instilled in him. I see plenty of camping trips in the Smokies in our future. Plus Smokies minor league games.
