Outlook: Kind of a "work in progress" organization. The bats look to be lined up for years to come, although while Wander Franco was ranked in the top 100, there isn't a spot for him in the lineup at the moment (of course U is always an option). Pitching staff isn't the monster that it once was and will need a lot of those SPs to continue their development in order to be a threat for a ship in the coming years.

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said Monday that Lance McCullers could need surgery on his right elbow.

Luhnow said that the right-hander "has been seen by some doctors and I think we’re going to know more shortly," adding that if McCullers does wind up needing surgery, it would knock him out for the 2019 season. The Astros had referred to the injury that kept McCullers out for a chunk of the second half as a forearm strain, but Luhnow confirmed that it's an elbow issue and it sounds like it could be UCL-related. It appears that we might know more about McCullers' status later this week.
