Just booked a trip to Nashville for the last week of October. No particular reason to go, just needed to get away for a while after a long arse year of work.

Any recommendations for thing to do or places to eat in Nashville?

I haven't been there since the early 2000s.

I hear really good things about Bearded Iris Brewing.

Myles Straw getting his first big league start this afternoon.

If he can get on base regularly, he will be a real SB threat.

oh also word of advice.. never join a league from a friend of a friend. Should have gotten $400. Little did I know the guy collecting money is a stoner in Colorado. He spent the money

I'm still gonna get paid. Just not on time. Your fantasy advice will always be bad, however.

Germán Márquez tied the Modern Era record (since 1900) of most consecutive strikeouts to start a game (8). Jacob deGrom (2014) and Jim Deshaies also matched the feat (1986).

He is the first pitcher in the last 10 years to have 9 strikeouts and no hits allowed through 3 innings.

Facing an elimination scenario, Miles Mikolas delivered an outstanding performance on Saturday, allowing only an unearned run over eight dazzling innings. Mikolas scattered five hits in the game, didn't walk a batter and struck out six. The only blemish on his day came in the first inning where Yairo Munoz dropped an easy pop up that would have been the final out of the inning, allowing Ben Zobrist to dash home. A stud in every sense of the word in his return to the big leagues this season, Mikolas wraps up the year with an 18-4 record, 2.83 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and across 200 2/3 innings. In most years, that would put him in the thick of the race for the Cy Young award, but it looks like Jacob deGrom's to lose at the moment.
