I'd swing as hard as I possibly could at the first pitch and then my old arse would have to quit because I pulled something. So don't bet on me.

Looking at Razzball's 2nd Half Top 100 as they apply to the playoff teams and those in contention is pretty damn accurate when you break the players down to rank tiers and give them a score.

2nd half top 100

Total Ranking

1. Gyno
2. MWG
3. OMT
4. RDR
5. papz
6. Goodfellas
7. Chat
8. cwill
9. swamie
10. barry
11. DD

Bat Ranking

Tier 1

1. Gyno
2. OMT
3. cwill
5. papz
5. RDR

Tier 2

6. MWG
7. Goodfellas
9. barry
9. Chat

Tier 3

10. swamie
11. DD

Pitching Ranking

Tier 1

1. MWG
2. Gyno
3. Swamie

Tier 2

4. DD
5. Chat
7. OMT
7. barry
8. Goodfellas

Tier 3

9. RDR
10. papz
11. cwill

It's nothing you can't see in the league power rankings. I just wanted to see how a ranking stacked up to results.

barry takes a small hit because they didn't rank Kershaw in the top 100.

Looks like #32 to me.

One spot behind

31. Starling Marte – When I wrote this, Marte was ranked 30 on the Player Rater. Feels appropriate that’s around what I expect from him in the 2nd half too. If there’s one player who is who he is, Marte would qualify. Projections: 40/9/36/.282/15 in 246 ABs

MWG, you're back here in the cheap seats with CQQ, Deebz and I. Not good enough for a ranking

papz told me you traded your entire team at #2 for this year in return for both of CQQ's picks and his Ben Badler Super Fan password to get priority access and 24/7 news on all of the J2 classes through 2022.

If I kept going, it would have been something like LE, redd, Boo, DJ, rondo then you, Deebz and knat. I closed it out. Shockingly, CQQ didn't have a player in the top 100.

Surprised I'm not in the top tier pitching. They must not like my arms. Number 9 at hitting is fair though.

Only around 1/4 of the list is arms and then 5 or so are closers. Kluber, Thor, and Diaz seems about right but they also ranked Thor at 53 because of injury concerns. Probably the same reason they ranked Strasburg at 94.

Degrom doesn’t seem correct compared to the SP ahead of him

Doing the ranks, my tiers were 1-10, 11-25, 26-50, 51-75, and 76-100.

My little metric based ranks say yeah, deGrom is up there with Max and Sale this year in performance and if Kluber and Verlander are in that 11-25 bracket, then deGrom is getting cheated.

I can almost bet you though that he took W into account when doing these rankings and deGrom is certainly going to fall back. Considering that, I still wouldn't put Kershaw ahead of him, especially if Thor and Strasburg took those big hits because of injury concerns.
