Hearn has been on my short list to add for a while now. Which means he is going to get blown up any day now.

Poll Question:

Do you consider yourself a contender this year? Meaning, do you think you have a shot to make a run in the playoffs and win the ship? To clarify, the regular season is all but decided. We know that. However, we've seen teams like RDR squeak into the playoffs and then win the ship. What teams consider themselves in that situation right now?

I'm trying to gauge how many buyers there actually are in the league at this point.

Im with this line of thinking

Reddy, trade me Robles and add Marte so you can hit the ground running next year

Yes.

All you can hope for is to make the playoffs.

And in my case lose with some dignity.

prospects and picks are always expendable when you realize banners hang forever

it's a four-week crapshoot tho.

Like Sandy said, hottest team wins.

Only a few teams even answer trades. Those few teams only have so many guys to sell. The pool is small as far as roster upgrades go. If the upgrade isn’t a difference maker whatcha gonna do

i think there are only 4 teams that can win this thing. The other 4 aren't going to push the envelope

I cant really give people shite since i had a massive rebuild begin last year, but I see a couple of teams that are a move or two away from being a force not just this season, but in the seasons to come. I had one owner (who would be in the playoffs if the standings stayed the same ) tell me today that my offer made sense but he didn't feel like he had a chance this year, so he had to reject. Still scratching my head on that philosophy.

I disagree. The 8 teams that make the playoffs can win this thing. RDR proved it from the 8 seed in 2016.

Reedd, I can’t give away a closer with a 2.17 ERA, a 10.86 K/9 and 10 SV+H since May 1.

I get told to eat a dick on draft picks

RDR wasn't that good that year. Seriously.

I was two innings away from winning it all coming from 8 spot in the inaugural season. My team sucked. E5 carried me.

I am terrified to play 9 other teams in playoff contention.
