That makes both of us dumb fricks because I laughed at the Reds for claiming him.

The players and MLB boned this worse than the fans.

I love me some Votto too, but there's 2...maybe 3 other guys on the final vote ballot that should be in his spot. If they like him so much, invite him to sit with them during the HR Derby bc nobody is coming to see Votto draw a walk.

The NL has to carry 3 Catchers because the Cubs stuffed Contreras onto the starting roster, then the players did their hero worship thing like they did with Votto and picked Posey, so MLB had to step in and pick the actual best Catcher this year as the Marlins lone rep.

In his few 8 innings of OF time, Muncy has a better range factor than Yelich so i'm sure it could play for an inning or two. I wouldn't expect the players to go Muncy over Yelich, there's just other players besides Yelich who deserved the spot. Nobody will talk about Peralta being snubbed for instance.

Finally Lester and/or Jansen over Stripling. I'm sure the managers wanted another RP, like it matters. Stripling should be in over both.

Nola and Corbin are actually scheduled to pitch the Sunday before the game so that's two spots right there.

Interesting stat on Elehuris Montero. He pushed his wRC+ over 150 this weekend, joining an impressive group of teenagers to post 150 wRC+ in the MWL this decade (min. 200 PA’s). Vlad Guerrero Jr, Corey Seager, Byron Buxton, Oscar Taveras, and Mike Trout are a few examples.

Speaking of impressive groupings among up and coming young stars.

Not many players at the age of 17 have posted a 150 wRC+ or more in Rookie ball. At least not going back to 2010. Even 140 wRC+ is an impressive bar to reach.

Soto is head and shoulders above his peers in his first taste of pro ball with a 184 wRC+. Albies (160), Devers (146), Acuna (142), Vlad (122), Torres (119), and Tatis (108) trail Soto in wRC+ as well as his ISO of .189 and his wOBA of .450.

The Appy League is only 1/3 of the season underway but if Wander Franco finishes his season with Princeton, Soto may have some company.

Wander Franco
.352/.403/.592
7.8% K
157 wRC+
.442 wOBA
.239 ISO

I was pretty proud of it

Imagine how hard I'll pimp him if he does finish that strong.

MWG, not on the leaderboard since FG doesn't have a split leaderboard for minors.

You'd have to go to each players individual page and select by dates in their game log.
