Seems like you’d want to keep a stud like that tbh

I’m kinda leaning that way, Les.

But with Turner on the mend, it’s tough to keep three 3B rostered.

You didn’t ask about anyone or send me an offer, tough for me to judge where you value that guy with zero feedback. I mean if you really want to sell and all, pretty obvious I was interested imo

I felt the offers made summed up that we were too far apart

Villanueva (7) and can’t give the guy away. SMDH

I'm not trying to shite on him bc I could use him. I just wish I moved on him as a FA.

But I think the reason people might be wary to give up much is:

2018 Villanueva

29.4% K|.3 BB/k|.438 babip|33% HR/FB|66.7% Contact 17.4% Whiff|36.8% Hard Hit

2017 Comps

Best Case Scenario

Domingo Santana

29.3% K|.41 BB/k|.363 babip|30.9% HR/FB|70.3% Contact 13.8% Whiff|39.7% Hard Hit

Other Similar Comps

Mark Reynolds - Aided by Coors Field
Tim Beckham - less power, HR/FB only 20%
Ryan Zimmerman - Struck out less at 22% and had made better contact, less whiffs
Javier Baez - Best plate discipline comp, much lower HR/FB, Hard Hit%. What Baez is doing now with his power is what Villanueva is doing, except Baez corrected his plate discipline.

And wait for it....

Aaron Judge

It's pretty much the same except the walks and Judge is a freak with a bat who hits everything hard as frick.

I have a Player A and Player B as well.

Player A

10.3 Brl/PA| 89.4 MPH Exit Vel.| .449 xwOBA/.647 xSLG | 20.5 Launch Angle

26% LD/26% GB/47% FB | Hard hit 37%

.438 BABIP

--------------------------------------------------------

Player B

10.7 Brl/PA| 89.9 MPH Exit Vel.| .398 xwOBA/.582 xSLG | 20.2 Launch Angle

22% LD/32% GB/46% FB . Hard hit 57%

.200 BABIP

Player A is of course Villaneuva. Player B is Daniel Descalso.

I think the difference is that Descalso while also being an extreme pull hitter hasn't even hit nearly all of his hard hit fly balls to his pull side like Villaneuva has. And Descalso is a weak hitter who's doing sonething abnormal right now.

Even the most extreme pull hitters last year with a HR/FB of 25% or more like your Gallos and Gary Sanchez's have sprinkled their HR across the park.

Conclusion

You either have a stronger version of 2017 Beckham or Baez on your hands or mini Aaron Judge. Won't be able to tell until his stats normalize but in the meantime people will go lowball because it's possible he could be 2 weeks away from being just as unlucky as Descalso.

Great stuff Swam.

But I think that’s why I’m asking for a RP in a save+hold league, the most replaceable position.

Ain’t nothing to be sorry about bro.

Terrific breakdown. Just highlight the mini-Judge part and leave out the Daniel Descalso comp next time

Things are starting to shake out as the contenders(and Redd) have moved to the top of the leaderboard.
