I know at face value the guy you offered is better than Pearce, but I like the versatility for a backup option. Plus I gave up less, in my opinion.

I think most teams will just bump up an milb guy with service time to fill that extra mlb roster spot and add another milb player. Other than some RPs with solid ratios and a few holds, how much value is there in the free agency pool? Only reason why I am against expanding the mlb roster. If most owners go that route and use that extra spot only to store service time guys, it just takes away from any MILB roster managing strategy we currently have to use, imho.
