Could Coors effect him? Sure. But the Rockies have never had a pitcher as talented as Gray. I can appreciate the stats you showed for those pitchers, but I'd prefer to go with a ceiling like Gray's over a high-floor guy like Appell. Gray's ceiling is a legit ace. There's risk involved with any pitcher. In the end I want the guy with the best skills, regardless of where he pitches. Dude throws triple digits, has a great slider, and locates well. He also has the frame for a large workload.

I should also point out that I'm an admitted sucker for upside when it comes to prospects. I could understand the more risk-averse fantasy viewpoint.

Best pick: Tanaka. The guys who passed on him are stupid stupid stupid.
Worst pick: Polanco.

If he wasn't in Coors, Id say he would be the the #1 overall pick on my board in this draft

Coors can frick up a youngin's career very quickly. Gotta be mentally strong on top being a beast pitcher.

Would you guys have Kershaw as your #1 fantasy SP if he played for the Rockies?

Naw, we'd be talking King, Cliff Lee, Yu, Scherzer, Sale IMO

He's a special talent that I'm willing to take a risk on.

If Kershaw was traded to the Rockies tomorrow, I'd run to the computer trying to get him in a trade, in the hopes that the ballpark scared the owner into doing so.
