rmc, Pick 1 Round 2
Russell Martin, C, New York
Rick looks to solidify his catcher by taking Russ Martin. Martin is always good for 15 and 60. Rick takes him here and now has his positons filled.
rmc, Pick 2 Round 2
Matt Capps, RP, Minnesota
Rick looks to add his first closer. Who better than his lookalike, Matt Capps. Not the best closer in the world, but he will likely be a 30 save guy if he can keep the job.
Honkus, Pick 3 Round 2
Trevor Bauer, SP, Arizona
Honk goes with the young SP, who will likely debut late this year. This 21 year old has ace written all over him, and could be a fixture in Honk's staff for years to come.
Boo! Pick 4, Round 2
Jose Tabata, OF, Pittsburgh
Boo! will take a chance on rondo's long time obsession, Jose Tabata. At only 23, Tabata can still develop in a 20/20 guy and could be a keeper candidate if he lives up to his hype.
rmc, Pick 5 Round 2
Lucas Duda, OF/1B, New York
Rick goes for the young slugger here. They moved in the fences strictly for Duda, who has 25 HR potential with a high OPS. At only 25 years old and dual position eligibility, Duda could be the sleeper of this draft.
Goodfellas, Pick 6 Round 2
Jhonny Peralta, SS, Detroit
Earl will fill his SS position with the steady hitting Peralta. Still under 30, he provides Earl with a young enough SS who produces like the 9 year vet that he is.
Goodfellas, Pick 7 Round 2
Drew Pomeranz, SP, Colorado
Earl has his eye on a young SP right here, and my best prediction would be Pomeranz. The young lefty has already logged some major league action, and is poised to be a stud if he can tame the high altitude in Colorado. He is shining in spring and that is enough for Earl to take him.
LE, Pick 8 Round 2
Carlos Marmol, RP, Chicago
Les goes back to his boy Marmol here. Though he is capable of ruining a week's worth of pitching cats, he has the potential for 35 saves and a high K/9. Marle could look to a guy like Motte if he isn't intrigued by Marmol.
Redd, Pick 9 Round 2
Ervin Santanna, SP, Anaheim
Redd will look to add a 4th SP here, and a guy like Santana fits nicely. He was solid last year, with a nice ERA, K/9, and a bunch of QS. He has the potential to K 200 guys with an ERA of 3 if he can put it all together.
Redd, Pick 10 Round 2
Jason Motte, RP, St Louis
Redd will add another closer to his stable with Motte, who was solid down the stretch and into the playoffs for the Cards. He has the potential to save 40 and K a guy per inning if he can hold the job all year long.
LE, Pick 11 Round 2
Jason Kubel, OF, Arizona
Kubel in Arizona could spell a 30 HR 100 RBI year for the stout lefty. If he falls this far he could be a steal for LE in the late 2nd round. Kubel is a great vet to have for a team looking to add to his trophy case.
Clams, Pick 12 Round 2
Travis Snider, OF, Toronto
With the first WTF pick of the draft, Clams selects Snider, who is tearing up ST thus far. Still young, Snider has been a breakout candidate for the past 2 years. After his nice spring, Snider beats out Eric Thames for the LF job and Clams has himself a possibly keeper down the line.
rmc, Pick 13 Round 2
Frank Francisco, RP, New York
With the closers going quick, Rick takes another fat closer. Francisco isn't the best, but he could save 25 games or so and K a batter per.
ISP, Pick 14, Round 2
Nick Markakis, OF, Baltimore
rondo reaches for the solid OF this year. Could this be his year? Maybe, maybe not. He will provide nice numbers for a 4th OF with the potential to add some HRs.
Rouge, Pick 15, Round 2
John Buck, C, Miami
With an already solid team, rouge looks to add a catcher to his squad. Buck is the best power hitting catcher left and should fit in nicely with Rouge's power squad.
Gyno, Pick 16 Round 2
Johan Santanna, SP, New York
Gyno reaches out to take the former Cy Young winner. While his velocity is down and he is on a possible inning limit, he still should provide solid stats for a SP. He could breakout and become a possible keeper if he stays healthy.
Russell Martin, C, New York
Rick looks to solidify his catcher by taking Russ Martin. Martin is always good for 15 and 60. Rick takes him here and now has his positons filled.
rmc, Pick 2 Round 2

i'm not a fan of the mock fantasy draft FWIW. It gives people who do no research some ideas that could end up sniping me or others in the process. Just my two cents

well i didn't want to name names but

I figured everyone has an idea of who's available.
Even so, most will pick someone different than the mock just because they don't want me to be right

Without commenting on the four picks of mine that you mocked (
), I'd say you did a decent job.
Posted on 3/12/12 at 2:46 pm to TigerPhan27
i dont think sleepers really come into play in the first 2 rounds.
with that being said i hope there are better 'pickins' than what is shown in this mock draft

Mock RW since I have 2 picks in the 1st
Posted on 3/12/12 at 3:10 pm to PortCityTiger24
I'm gonna mock RW tomorrow afternoon, more than likely.
Posted on 3/12/12 at 3:12 pm to PortCityTiger24
I'll wait till all the players are thrown back into the pool. It'll make it easier. I had to comb through all the rosters for this one and pick out possible 1st round picks

yall want me to push keepers through in RW?
think the trading is done?

I updated the keepers in the first post. Everyone take a look and let me know if there are any errors.
Here's the new rankings, if anyone is interested. Giraffe got weaker after the trade with Knat, while Knat improved after his trades with Rondo and Giraffe. Rondo's team improved after his trade with Knat.
