i just find it amusing that you are arguing about guys moving 16th round picks that they can't use anyway because they have too many

it is their picks to do with as they please. as long as it is not collusion, i dont see why would would give a rat's arse.

I think that's his point...He didn't get his picks but Honkus did. I could be wrong though.

if Clams offered you an 5th and an 11th to move up in the 5th round a few spots, i would not mind in the least

if you can't see the difference, then i cant help you

looking at the draft from last season, they only had about 2 draft picks worth a shite from the 11th round last season (Clayton Richard and Trevor Cahill) and they had one in round 16 in Jaime Garcia

if you want to be real about it, it's is all pretty much a crapshoot after about the 9th round

what do you call redd and geaux giving their extra pick to Honkus free of charge? The dude flat out asked if he could have them for free.

it's called honkus being new to the league and not wanting to act like a complete dick because his team is fricking horrible anyway

Rouge, if you don't see the flawed logic in it being ok with it because he is new to the league and his team sucks, then GLTY.

A trade where one team receives nothing, regardless of extra picks/position of pick, is the closest you'll see to collusion in this league.
And to think people were bitching when LE and I traded Desmond for CJ Wilson makes me wanna lala

of course there is a difference dumbass, That is my whole damn point. There is a difference, but the rules doesn't differentiate any difference. The trades that were just allowed by Honkus just made anything fair game, unless some boundary is set.

If he straight up gave me an 11th round pick, one he isnt using we would have to just "trust the veto" that it wouldnt be allowed.

otherwise the pick would be mine.

as far as the rule being "you have to trade your last pick if it is an extra" just isnt going to work

it has to be said something like "you can only trade 16 round picks to make trades even" or something of that sort.

if that cant happen, then you go into the draft short on picks. That is how sports work. You dont throw something in to appease the competition.

if someone goes into the draft with extra picks, so be it. They shouldnt have to help a team out by giving picks because they couldnt work out a trade to get even. They really shouldnt want to.

it has nothing to do with flawed logic. it has everything to do with making decisions on a case-by-case basis

collusion alludes to getting AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE. is honkus REALLY getting an advantage by getting one of the last 5 picks? REALLY?

i really think you are making a mountain out of a molehill, and i'm wondering why i am surprised

this is not a Pandora's box. just going to have to go with me this time.

OK, I don't make dumb trades where I give up a high pick and don't get back at least the last pick that person has, so it won't be a problem for me. I don't care what yall do, but I kinda agree with you that you shouldn't just give someone a pick. Only exception would be that you are the one who got the extra pick from the person you're giving it back to...wouldn't care at all about that.

Yes, he is getting an advantage. Having the rights to a guy vs fighting people on the waiver wire is an advantage. If you were short 3 picks, would it be advantageous to receive 2 free of charge, no question asked?

Honkus got free picks.. i was down 6 picks, got nothing. i dont agree that picks should be given, but if they are then i wanted some. SURPRISE!

I never really wanted any of them. I said from the onset that I fricked up by not getting picks in return in the deals I made and was accepting that I wasn't going to get any. Of course I would have taken them, but I wasn't going to make a big deal of it.

But when I find out Honk was getting them free, I felt a little cheated, which I why I'm carrying on aimlessly.

I traded Josh Johnson, Ike Davis, Adam Jones, Brian Roberts etc mainly in the name of acquiring a full allotment of picks.
