Thinking about a change to the electoral college

So, let me start by saying that I absolutely love the electoral college. It definitely levels out the playing field and keeps a few big cities from dominating the election.
But, sometimes, those big cities carry the state. Take California, outside of LA, SF, and a couple of other cities, it’s red. Likewise in Mi, take out Detroit, and it’s red.
What if a state’s electoral college votes were split? So, even if Detroit votes blue, the rest of Michigan could still give theirs to the GOP.
Just a thought to keep the large urban centers from dominating..

Abolish winner take all.

Isn't that what Nebraska does, more or less?
