I'm hoping that this election marks the end of the NeoCon / RINO era of American politics. Seems like the NeoCons have started to embed themselves into the Dem party, but will it actually take hold there?

Watching Kagan, Mrs. Kagan (Nuland), Kristol, Frum, and Applebaum melt the past few months has been the most satisfying part of this ride for me.

I'm starting a bag of popcorn for if this doesn't actually happen. Like, if Ukraine keeps getting money, etc.

No. The MI complex is too strong. They are still there and will continue to be. Sadly.

I didn't want to be a doomer the last few days, but DJT has been bro-ing it up with Pompeo the past week. That is not a good sign.

We'll see.
quote:

If the current rancor between Trump and Liz Cheney was grounded in policy substance, there's no coherent reason why he'd also be surrounding himself with people like Tom Cotton, Mike Pompeo, Mike Johnson, Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, Elise Stefanik (who took over Liz's old job as House GOP conference chair) and others who have zero discernible policy differences with Liz. Their only difference is personal fidelity to Trump -- which Liz breached when she became a Jan 6 obsessive. That's it.

No, they'll hibernate like cockroaches during a nuclear war, but they will survive.

Possibly the end of it in the Republican party....they are now leeches of the Democrats. Good riddence.
