We will have Trump pick Justices to replace Scalia and Thomas with 52 or 53 Republican Senators.

The republic is saved for another couple decades baws!

I like Thomas but I sure hope he pulls the plug sooner rather than later so that Trump gets to pick his replacement. He does not have to do a Ginsburg, she will also be replaced by Trump.

Word on the street is Thomas is ready to retire.

Perfect timing is now although I love having the guy on the court.

Ginsburg doesn't have much time left so that would be another one, and Kennedy is getting pretty close. Let's do this!

The future SCOTUS picks probably influenced the electorate.

The SCOTUS picks will be wild because Trump is really pretty liberal. He is much more liberal than Clinton is.

yep he's 80 (but that's the new 65).

Breyer is 78.

assuming they're in better health than Scalia was (and have the energy and will to continue--they aren't ideologues or party people really, so they may just hang it up before too long), Trump may have to be a two-termer -- or pass the torch to Rand or Pence -- to get these two out.

Thomas should stay put at least two years into the pres term, IMO. I'd rather roll the dice with the confirmation process (i.e., with losing the senate + having a Dem Senate actually block new nom) than lose him right now.

If we can secure solid Scalia and Ginsberg replacements asap, plus a few more years of Thomas, then the Court should be in pretty good shape to protect the Constitution decently in the medium term. Specifically: keep the Wise Latina and that new guy (Alan?) in check and help keep Roberts and Alito thinking clearly.

Then it's phase II of the plan: more young blood time for Breyer and Kennedy. As much as he irks me, get Ted Cruz on the bench. That confirmation will be a total shite show!

I liked Trump's SC list generally, so this is all YUGE! Supreme Court stacked; anti-Constitutionalist neoprogs f'ed.
