I actually love the idea about the senate seats and congressional seats.
That makes a ton of sense.
Now someone with a lot of time on their hands, figure out what the results would be in this election had that been the system.

Not me. Even when I thought last night that Hilldabeast might win the EC with Trump winning the popular vote I wasn't going to go down that path.
The EC is what keeps politicians from campaigning solely in the top 10 most populated states (which makes up around half the total population).

It doesnt sit well with me when the people's choice for president doesn't actually win the nomination even when it breaks in my favor. At the same time, I get it. In terms of land area, the country is far more red than blue though the blue is concentrated in the most populous areas of the country. The electoral college gives more of a voice to a wider swath of the population than like minded people isolated in a tiny geographic area.
It is concerning to me though that the last Republican president to win the popular vote when not up for re-election was Bush 28 years ago
