Oh, he won't fail. His intentions are what I question.

He already is and has been all along. Hell, he was a big contributor to Hillary's previous campaigns.

Usually, the major parties gobble up "outside" candidates in exchange for their backing and help in winning.

In my estimation, TRUMP gobbled up the Republican party, as evidenced by the defection of the many old guard establishment players from his campaign. I hope I am right and he is able to hold on to his principles when dealing with the Congress. There is hope my friend.
That is my hope as well.

Again, my heart is hopeful; my brain is shaking its damn head.

Why am I not shocked? Trump kicked his way through the ruling establishment while breaking all of the establishments "rules."

Your paranoia knows no limit.
Am I supposed to believe that the establishment media gifted him billions in free advertisement and built him into Rock Star status by mistake?

You're not that naive.

People are celebrating some sort of victory. Unfortunately, nothing is going to change because Trump is as establishment as Hillary.

At some point I hope America wakes up to the realization that the establishment gets its way, whether by the Republican candidate or the Democratic candidate.

When nothing changes under Trump, maybe that happens.

This is the fly in the ointment for me. Because of the era in which I came of age with all of the scandal and corruption in politics, which has always been present throughout our history in some form or fashion, I am cautiously optimistic that things will change for the better but I have just enough conspiracy theorist in me to think maybe this was just Plan B for the elites. They had to do an end run around the populace because the heat was on. Maybe Trump is a puppet just like all of the rest? I guess time will tell. However, I hardly think he could be any worse than what the other side has put forth over the past eight years.

NOBODY is that smart.
It's Politics 101.

But when it does, will you be here getting another mouthful of crow?
As a proud American, you bet your arse I would.

You don't have to be in politics to play politics in the business world. It's naive to believe that someone isn't politically savvy just because he hasn't held office.

You will believe whatever your demons inside your brain tell you to believe.

The media thought they could destroy Trump by giving him all of that free publicity, embarrassing him every time he opened his mouth. They weren't trying to help him get elected. It was the opposite.

This. It's the second time they've gone to Plan B (IMO) with Hillary. That is fascinating. I haven't stopped smiling since.

He won't be any worse; he just won't be any better. Nothing will change as long as we continue to play the game that those in power have rigged in their favor.

It's like playing poker with a cheater. The only way the cheater wins is if those around him keep playing.

I disagree. Do you remember how they treated Ron Paul (a real non-establishment candidate)? They demonized him and gave him no opposing voice.

That's how you crush a candidate. The last thing you do is give them a voice.

The establishment gave Trump a bigger voice than any other candidate in the history of this country. They did just the opposite of what you do to destroy a candidate.

TX Tiger, you have my curiosity up. From what well do you draw your political water?

Just a couple of last names will do.

Not if you believe, as the media did, that Trump would hang himself of they just gave him enough rope.

I now believe you're not nearly as intelligent as I once thought you might be.

Could it be that they vastly underestimated him, took him for a buffoon? He in turn took their free coverage and abuse, all the way through the primaries? I noticed a big drop off as soon as he was in the General.
