Staying in downtown BR tomorrow night. Any nightlife for the older folks, 40-50s?

Boudreaux & Thibodeaux’s usually has live music and a good atmosphere. Head upstairs and get a spot on the balcony if you want to sit outside and people watch.

Happy’s has a nice outdoor patio if you can grab a table there and may have love music as well.

Wife wants to go to Superior. Open to other options. I think she’s feeling nostalgic!

Superior is on the other side of town. For downtown:
Happys
B&Ts
Squeaky Petes
The Register
Jolie Pearl
River Room

Find some live music, drink some beer.

Try this website for music: https://redstickmusic.com/r_/Home.html

BTW, The Gregory is also a nice place to hang out.

Ate at Cecilias last night. Excellent as usual. Best Wedge in town. Boudin and Porkbelly egg rolls are outstanding. Redfish and Grouper were great. They get creole seasoned food. Everything spiced perfectly. Blueberry bread pudding to send us home with a big smile.

Happy's Irish pub

I don't think sending a couple in their 40s - early 50s to a bar where the bartenders are dressing in skimpy schoolgirl uniforms is really catering to the audience.

I think B&T's would be your speed. Brickyard South wouldn't be bad either, but the crowd is more 30 somethings there.

Happy's would probably be a little young, but you could have fun on the patio.

Superior is definitely the place for middle aged folks to get blasted on margs and hear a cover band.

Cadillac, Phil Brady's, or The Station would also work for your demo to get some live cover band music.

Downtown, these days, is mostly closed, young, or acoustic duos. There's just not much going on down there these days, but that could be changing soon as the Basin is about to reopen big time.

Red Stick Revelry is open for live music, bowling, and what not, but their service was pretty damn shoddy before Covid, so I can't imagine it's any better now.
