But what does it matter until they go public? You know how many schools have silent commits from the same kid, every year? They are meaningless until public and even in those cases many times.
Quite honestly many silent commits hinder staffs more than help them. The staffs bank that spot and stop recruiting most if not all secondary targets at the spot. Then when/if the kid reneges they are up shits creek. It happened to us last year with Evans and Burch. Even the public commits of Jarrett and Burton burnt us.

The whole point of a commitment is that you tell one school “I choose you” and tell the others "sorry, not coming". A silent commitment is not a commitment at all, in my opinion.

Exactly right. Silent commits are real but in an alternate reality aren't because only a handful of people actually know about them, they aren't binding in any way and many kids have given multiple schools silents simultaneously. There was a kid a year or 2 ago that openly admitted giving like 7 silent commitments during his recruitment, some at the same time. For the most part I see even the mentioning of them as being a form of sunshine pumping. They hold about as much significance.

I think Zavier Carter as well..never hear anything about him, and in all honesty if we need another LB, Terrence Lewis is not fully committed to Tennessee at all, Miami is there and they will give him the ok to flip, LSU could easily jump in that race.
