Gas station next to me had a few, looked pretty cool for cheap knives, about a 4-5 inch blade folding knife, $12.99

yeah, i mean for $13 i'm not expecting much. They did look cool. I see a bunch of mtech's on amazon for $8-$10 range.

I live the cheap knife life. A $15 knife can last me a few years. A benchmade or spiderco wouldn't be "worth it" unless I use it for 12+ years. And then I would have to resharpen a lot. No thanks.

basically you should just be hoping it won't fall apart and not rust super fast.
the steel and hinges and build quality will all be as cheap as they make knives. but at the end of the day, if you don't mind sharpening the blade a knife is just supposed to cut.
how sharp do you REALLY need a blade to be? with knives like those the main thing you want to ask is how long before it breaks/falls apart.

I'd buy it if you need a 'throw down'

You can get a decent Kershaw for a few bucks more at walmart.

Worth what you pay for them.

This, or even a Gerber. Nothing good comes from gas stations, except gas.
