The company says the breach affected "a limited amount of personal information for a portion of our customers".
And it does not believe the most sensitive information it gathers - US social security numbers and financial information - was revealed.
Robinhood said it had rejected a demand for payment and reported the attack.

We don't negotiate with terrorists, unless of course they want to buy our order flow.

I keep getting notifications from RH to add my phone number to my account for "security".

Glad I won't be one of the 7m getting more calls about their cars warranty.

Saw the article this morning thanks to this post, now I have a funny story (may just to me) about this.

Received a call from an unknown number that looked similar to my insurance company's area code. Against better judgement, I answered.

Guy said he was calling to ask me if my roof was ready for the winter then asked how old the roof was. Was a weird question since I am dealing with my attorney about getting the insurance company to pay for my roof. I asked him to repeat who he was, what company, and how did he get my number. Did not understand the company name, but he said he received my number from public records.

I said, that's odd because I just read that robinhood had a data breach, and you just coincidently call me the same day I read the article. Immediately said, "thank you for your time, I will note to remove your number from our call list"
