I got to be honest, I love the old Ford trucks.It seems like you can be a lot more creative redoing an old truck.. Well, I should say personally I like to see cars restored to resemble their original look, where as trucks, I like to see them done with more creativity.

Yeah, that was the same basic car. You could get it as a Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, or Mitsubishi.
As far as I know, all four brands sold both widebody and standard-size versions. The widebody was just a more optioned-out version, with things like an intercooler for more power.
There's something really cool about making a widened version of a car, IMO. You see it with Subarus, too. There were model years where the WRX was wider than the Impreza, and even a year or two where the STI was wider than the WRX.
