I think them leaving the big 12 is horrible for the sport. Yes, if they come to the SEC we will get more money and continue to separate as a conference over the ACC and Big 10.

But it will kill the Big 12. The PAC 12 will be left even further behind. I think it will hurt the sport in the long run by decreasing interest across the nation.

Just speed up the process of getting all major conference teams to come to the SEC. Then create its own championship. Profit

This could easily be a negotiation ploy to separate those two teams even more than the others in the Big 12. The rest of the schools will give them a larger piece of the pie to keep the Big 12 in tact just like they did 10 years ago when Texas and Oklahoma threatened to leave.

Exactly why we should not let them in the SEC, if they are willing to torpedo their current conference, they already had a hand in torpedoing their last conference. Wouldn't be surprised if they do the same to their next one.

I thought about this too and can see an angle where the SEC (with ESPN's backing) effectively consumes and takes over American major college football in a way that is similar to how the WWE destroyed the old NWA territory wrestling system in the 80's.

In time, you will see multiple additional divisions of the "S"EC created with the likes of Ohio State, USC, North Carolina, etc. The SEC becomes less a conference and more its own tier of American college football entirely. The NCAA will die on the vine the same way the NWA did while the SEC 'goes national'.

Let’s just stop messing around and bypass the NCAA completely. Pull the teams from the university (these “student” athletes aren’t much of students) and create a 4 year professional league.

The fact UT can’t handle teams turning their horns upside down are enough for me to say no. If you that soft you can’t handle the SEC I’m sorry.

B12 is already dying. Its probably best for sports to have one less p5.

The SEC. It just means more. I don't think college football becomes like NASCAR, but the South and Midwest is where it is the strongest. When the Ivy League got out of big time football it killed interest in the NE with the exception of ND and Penn State. PAC 12 FB will be fine. People like football on the West Coast.

ND's nationally following was based among the subway alumni of the Northeast.
