OLED TV Tips on settings and sound to accompany it?

Friday I will be getting my 77 LG CX OLED and am so pumped. It will be replacing my 65 inch 2018 curved QLED. I found a deal online that the OLED came with a TV mount, install and a sound bar. The sound bar is an LG SN6Y.

1. Will this sound bar be sufficient or should I sell and get something better? If so, recommendations?

2. What settings do you recommend? Should I leave it as is or adjust?

3. Any other OLED tips as it is my first?

SUPER pumped to watch 4k streaming and use my PS5 on this bad boy. Thanks!

The sound bar is on the entry level side. A lot of how it sounds is dependent on the room it is in. It's part of the package so set it up and see how you like it.

Here is a baseline for settings on the TV. I'd be adhering the the expert controls, white balance and picture options lines the most. Bottom line is the less artificial enhancement modes used the better the image quality.

Enjoy the set!

if you want a theater experience, the sound bar is the equivalent vespa.

If you want to go down the sound bar path then any sound bar will do. Get one with a sub.

Very helpful! I definitely want to consider surround sound at some point. Are you able to do a soundbar with surround sound?

Not proper surround sound.

You would want a good AVR and ideally, a Left, Right, Center in the front, 2 surrounds in rear and two height speakers for Dolby Atmos with a dedicated subwoofer.

Congrats! I picked up a new 2020 75" Sony X950H over the weekend. Price was too good to pass up at less than $2k. It's my first 4k TV and have enjoyed it so far.

I'm looking at optimal custom settings as well. What I found thus far is I like one custom setting for the 4k movies I have downloaded and different settings for streaming on prime/disney+. Over the air TV is a whole different story. lol

The tv is awesome… sound wise, ditch the sound bar, get you a 7.2 Dolby atmos home theater setup 2 tower speakers center channel 2 rear speakers, and either 2 speakers that shoot the sound down to you or 2 speakers that reflect the sound off the ceiling (those are the atmos speakers) with 2 10” or 12” subs

Soundbars aren't ideal but they are getting better and better. Unfortunately the best are pretty expensive.

Samsung Q950A review

It's essentially a 5.1.4 system (technically 11.1.4) with wireless surrounds. The room you're in matters quite a lot with these types of soundbars though. They are basically reflecting the Dolby Atmos channel off your ceiling. $1600 though. You could get a more traditional setup for around the same price that will sound much better.

Vizio M-Series 5.1 Soundbar

The Vizio is around $350. If you don't care about Atmos. It also doesn't have wireless surrounds which could be a problem depending on your room.
