Lmao what
He made like a max of 25/year

Lot easier to take a pay cut when you’re married to a woman with a net worth of $200 million.
Tom Brady isn't the provider in his own marriage, he was woke before it was cool. I can understand the frustration of a Ravens fan though, about to have a QB destroy your cap that can't even reliably throw the ball.

Poor, poor Drew Brees. Dude and his family will be living in a Pinto with Jacob Blake. Thank God I don't have to live with that horrible contract.
"On March 17, 2020, Drew Brees signed a two-year contract worth $50 million to keep him with the Saints through the 2021 season."
Poor poor Drew

This just in, on a shortened league year the team that was cobbled together and didn't get to really train at all secretly had the advantage.
Jesus Christ.

While I agree he kind of made a fool of himself, this is beyond hyperbole.

Saints paid Brees over a quarter of a billion dollars over 15 years. The bump in salary from $10 to 25 million per season was a lot. Just taking $20 million would have allowed for one more piece. Just saying, if his true goal was to win another title, he could have taken a little less. I get both sides of it...

He was underpaid his first 6 years at $10 million, he made about $10 million less a year the last number of years also. He may have been the highest paid QB for about 2 months at one point.

There are a lot of reasons the Saints didn't win another Super Bowl, Roger Goodell preventing them being at the top of the list, but Drew Brees' salary wasn't one of them.

brees didn't take a paycut and they still were able to pay a frick ton of players (byrd, galette, etc)
they were ABSYMAL at drafting those 2012-2015 years and it caught up to them.
Brees cutting his salary by 10mil doesn't fix the fact that they were like bottom 5 defensively.

Is this another Lebron thread? Yes or No.

Sure love the insecurity of Rams fans feeling compelled to defend their team’s tainted NFC title game victory from which they proceeded to score only 3 POINTS in the Super Bowl LOL

All of that dead money wasn’t Drew’s fault.
Bad contracts elsewhere on those rosters was the problem.
