I don't understand people that don't at all.

Wait, you continue watching a show that you don't like and "isn't for" you? What in the hell for?

So if you started The Walking Dead and hated it 10 or so episodes in, you'd keep watching for ten seasons and upwards of 150 episodes just for the hell of it?

I feel like I misread what you're saying, but I don't think I am.

I think he still means praised shows as he expects a payoff for pushing through.

Walking Dead is far from praised at this point. It's like Grey's Anatomy where you're surprised each year you see a promo for it and wonder how it is still going.

I hope so.

X-Files is a "praised show," but if I start watching it and realize in S1 or S2 that it isn't for me, I damn sure am not gonna plow through 200+ episodes and 11 seasons just to see if it pays off. Maybe I'm just weird.

We're not way into Season 3, so I'll tread lightly.

A large part of why we have "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance here was to counter state atheism promoted by Marxist-Leninist countries. During the height of the USSR, they were particularly anti-religion.

It makes a lot of sense viewed through that lense.

It hit a point that I had to struggle through. I'm not sure exactly where, but it had to be close to where you are. It turned out to be one of my favorite shows ever.
