1/2 way through, and its got a Cloverfield vibe to it, style wise, minus the overtly shaky cam nonsense.

Problem with movies like this, they start off with an intriguing premise, ( like The Matrix ) , but then the pay off tends to fall flat.

Hope that's not the case here.

Powered through and really like the last half of the movie. Ending was great.

Post your thoughts on Primer and Triangle once you've watched those. I'd love to hear a newbie's take on Primer. It's a bit confusing at times, but fantastic.

IIRC, Coherence has a solid ending. I think I referenced that earlier in the thread...it doesn't burn out like movies in that genre tend to do.

Yeah the ending really pulled it together for me. I loved it.

Watched Coherence recently and it was a cool story. Wasn’t wild about a couple of the casting choices, but I guess that’s what you get when the “biggest” actor in it is the techie CIA guy from Homeland.

How does Primer stack up in relation?

I never saw that show, but it did sound familiar. It was on when Buffy was on, so I doubt he was on it. Not as a regular, at least. Though I did check the cast, and Julie Benz ( Darla ) was, so that's interesting.

Oh I don't know if he was really on Roswell but in the movie Coherence his character was an actor who's claim to fame was a recurring lead actor role on a show called Roswell. But upon a google search I see there is a real show called Roswell (but I don't think he was in it).

* Nicholas Brendon was a regular on Buffy when Roswell was on, so he couldn't have been on both shows at the same time. Julie Benz was a reoccurring character, so yeah, she had time enough to do both.

* Fun fact, Nicholas does have a twin brother, Kelly Donavan , and both did appear in one episode of Buffy. Pretty sure his brother doesn't act full time, or didn't.

Wow... not to go all spoilery, but I kinda called it.

Anyway, I wasn't as impressed with this as some were. Sure, the concept, although ridiculous, is still kinda neat, in a spooky, sci-fi sort of way. I guess I've read up on comets and the like too much to be impressed by pocket multiverse scenarios, but as MacGuffins go, it's not the worst.

My biggest gripe about the movie is - who ARE these people?? My god, not a ONE of them is anyone I'd like to spend time with at a dinner party with how they acted. ( ok, maybe the hot blonde) This group ranges in age from I guess the latter 20's to mid 50's, judging by the actors ages... no one's related to each other. save for the older married couple, best I can tell.. the dynamics of the group is just a bit convoluted. If they were going for a generic, non descript group you'd see in a wine commercial, then they nailed it.

Excessive arguing, over reactions, and the idiotic idea of killing perfect strangers to 'fix' what ever the hell it is they think is going on?

Sure, it's different, and if some folks like it, fine. It wasn't terrible, and that blonde was a bit of a smoke show. Could have seen her naked, I'm just sayin'.
