There are skins for Sonya, Raiden and Johnny Cage actually voiced by Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, Christopher Lambert and Linden Ashby respectively.

Always thought they nailed Raiden and Liu Kang casting in the first movie. I hate they didn't get a new Liu Kang skin

There's a rumor that Netherrealm is still in negotiations to get Robin Shou (Liu Kang) and Talisa Soto (Kitana) onboard as well.

Unfortunately, Trevor Goddard (Kano) died in 2003. His performance was so strong that Boon retconned Kano to be Australian as a result.

No Art Lean, but there is an intro dialogue where Shang Tsung brags about killing Master Boyd to Linden Ashby's Johnny Cage.

I really liked that first movie. I'll never understand how they screwed up the second one so bad.

It only had $30 million budget; and while the first one had an even smaller one (18 million), it didn't have nearly as many characters and didn't rely on nearly so many special effects (which the second movie honestly didn't have the money for to begin with).

That and its inability to get a lot of the original cast back (Raiden, Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage are all different actors) just compounded onto the bad writing, terrible acting and bad transitions.

Honestly, it's the only movie I've ever left the theater in the middle of.

I think they just tried to do too much with it. It felt like the only intention was to fit every character possible into the film.

They combined the stories of 2 and 3 together,..they seemed to just jump into 3 while totally skipping over the story of 2, which was a great story.

Lame dialog, hardly any returning cast, different production crew & lack of being in touch with the fans of it.
