Look man, I hunt like you do 98% of the time. Just because you do it your way doesn't give you the right to diminish the way other guys hunt.

There are lots of places where you pretty much have to hunt out of a permanent stand and use bait of some sort. Also, drop the crossbows if you want to be tuff. They are for kids, handicapped, and elderly, not bad arse hunters like you.

CWD is not something you want to contribute too.

Just make you a few small food plots and fence them off with a couple strands of barbed wire if you have cattle around.

If it is mostly pasture and you have a wood line on that pasture. I would go around and create some mock scrapes. Anytime you see a branch just hanging out about 6 high into the pasture. Put some buck urine in the ground try and create a scrape line on the edge of the pasture if you can.

Again if you have pasture and a wood line. Next year (to late for this year) I would get in there and break up a large pasture into several small plots with using Egyptian Wheat as a (fence / barrier) border and plant it thick like 8 feet wide. You will be amazed at the amount of deer you see in the smaller plots feeling enclosed and they will actually bed down in the Egyptian wheat! We did it. Have a 60 acre wide open field on a woodline. 2 feeders out there, NEVER saw anything during the day. At night looked like a party on trail cameras. As soon as we put up egyptian wheat we started seeing 11 plus deer a hunt!

Food plots is the only way in this scenario. Try to find some trails/bedding areas. A good blend is cereal rye, some brassicas, sugar beets, crimson clover, winter peas and others. Id buy some mossy oak food plot mix if planting a large area. Its decent and cheap. Otherwise buy seeds from co-op and make your own. Should have already planted though. Id put some out asap. At least winter rye and brassicas and clover.

For years I did the scouting, looking for sign and hunted out of climbing stands.I’ll be 70 before this deer season is over,I’m done with that.Last few years I put up box stands and have feeders,if anyone doesn’t like the way I hunt frick them.
Thing is,I’ve never seen a buck eating under feeder but does do.The does keep the bucks coming around, that’s my angle.

You're only getting downvotes because you act like what you're doing is superior to others. Everyone has different levels of skill, time, and energy they put into the outdoors. People who make and shoot their own recurve bows/arrows could say you're a lazy no skilled hunter as well. Technology in compound/crossbows these days are pretty insane. Point is, we all use varying forms of technology to pursue our passion. No reason to shite on others for how they do it.

Food plots already above ground. I planted some sugar beets last weekend, interested in seeing how they do.

Probably because a lot of people hide behind the internet to seem like they’re badasses.

Nah, there's just nothing impressive about killing a deer with a $2k crossbow that can accurately launch a bolt like a fricking missile at dang near 100yards.

I personally don't give a crap how anyone legally hunts. That was just a bad time to add in the crossbow comment.
