While Orgeron appears to have already made two bad coordinator hires, he does know X’s and O’s. You’re foolish if you think otherwise.
O needs to learn what he already should know about hiring. You hire the best person available, not the guy you know best. You hire a guy who you’ve studied and vetted, not the guy’s hype.
Canada was all sizzle and no steak and Bo was the familiar.

Let’s relax a minute this was the craziest offseason with Covid and plus trying to implement a new defensive scheme plus with what 8-9 new starters.
Look I’m not gonna defend him much longer but we have had a lot of variables as to some reasonable excuses up to this point but not for long if we don’t see some adjustments

Coach O has hired 4 coordinators since he's been our head coach:
1. Matt Canada - didn't work out
2. Steve Ensminger
3. Joe Brady, passing game coordinator, home run
4. Bo Pelini - worst D in 30+ years (statistically)
at this point, he's 50-50. he may need help picking a good D coordinator.

False. In 2007, his last year as a DC, he looked pedestrian against the two offenses that most resemble modern CFB offenses. Kentucky and Arkansas. And Pelini had a stacked roster of NFL defenders. Otherwise, we faced old school run oriented offenses in our biggest tests.
We won the natty, sure...but that was 13 seasons ago.
In reality, unless we are gonna change the offenses we face to look like the 2007 offenses, we have no recent/relevant reason to believe he has what it takes, aside from pure hope.
So cling to baseless hope if you choose to. But PAHLEASE spare us with the "proven" label.
