re: What specifically changed for the Big 10? Why did they cancel to begin with?
Ohio State probably floated leaving and they all went oh frick like half of our split revenue is because of them.

The answer to both of your questions is TRUMP. When the cancel the season in late October it will once again be Trumps fault.

Another big thing for the PAC12 is (IMO) the wildfires that are impacting the west coast, I think that's taken pressure away from it. They were saying that even if the CFB season was going on without the pandemic the OSU/Oregon game would've been cancelled due to the poor air quality.

the Pac12 was never really an option with all the restrictions California and their collegiate systems put in place

had those not been in place, the wildfires would create a unique issue they'd have to deal with, though.

Father Trump wouldn't stand by and see the Big 10 deny their athletes the chance to play

I mean if there was a chance the PAC-12 was going to play it would be a legitimate issue but they're just using it for cover now. Didn't the Oregon Governor cancel or delay the game all the way back in May?

I mean, have you seen the sky’s? They are freaking orange year round.

Drove from Salt Lake to Nevada on Sunday. There was a fog of smoke across the Utah desert. Not heavy, but very apparent and constant.

Smoke from the fires is widely reported as covering the western states for a 1000 miles

quote:

These hazy conditions are not mere annoyances. As Luke Montrose, an environmental toxicologist, wrote recently for Fast Company, air pollution from wood smoke is a serious public health concern. Smoke from large wildfires can travel thousands of miles, across states, countries, and even oceans, and the fires currently burning on the West Coast include some of the biggest ever recorded.
