I remember all of those bands. Too bad I turned six in '67 and was too young to attend.

Also played the PMAC in summer of 1980.

Great show. They played in BR on the "By Numbers" tour as well. Keith Moon spent the day getting hammered at off-campus bars and had to be rounded up by the LSU PD to make it to the show.

I saw this same tour in July of 1967. I remember The Who demolished all of their equipment. Daltrey put his foot right into the middle of Moon's bass drum. Smoke was coming out of the amps. I had no idea what was going on. There was also an up and coming singer by the name of Neil Diamond on the same show. Blues Magoos had psychedelic suits that lit up when they cut the lights out. Wild stuff for back then.

I've spoken to a couple of people who were there, never seen a poster before though -- nice find.
Playing high schools was apparently quite common during this period, the classic example being the very first concert by The Velvet Underground, which took place at a suburban New Jersey school.
A guy who was there recently made this great short film about it.

Treedawg and some of his Red Oaks buddies overheard Peter Noone referring to BR as a hick town and nearly beat his arse, but Daltrey and Moonie talked them out of it.

The Inn Crowd was a local BR band signed to the Michelle label owned by Sam Montel, who promoted this show.
Their best-known track is an interesting attempt to combine garage R&B with power pop harmonies:

Something else I remember from the show I saw...it was actually in August of 1967 not July like I thought earlier. "I Can See for Miles" had just come out and it was my favorite song. They did not play it, I found out later that they very seldom did it live. Guess it was hard to replicate the sound, but I remember being puzzled at the time.

I was there. I was seated center stage, second row in folding chairs probably 20 feet from the stage. I was 12 then and 65 now. Those who have reported that the WHO destroyed their guitars, amps and drum set are telling the truth. I'll never forget the experience.
