BREAKING NEWS: The @FCC
has designated #Huawei and #ZTE as companies posing a national security threat to the United States. As a result, telecom companies cannot use money from our $8.3B Universal Service Fund on equipment or services produced or provided by these suppliers. 1/5

I remember ZTE. That's the Chinese company that Trump removed sanctions against in 2018, just days after a Chinese government-owned construction company signed on to build a project in Indonesia that included a Trump branded hotel and golf course.

The Chinese government also gave that Chinese government-owned construction company a $500 million loan for the Indonesian Trump project.

Trump tweeted that his administration would ease sanctions against ZTE, a Chinese smartphone maker accused of espionage.

Too many jobs in China lost,” Trump tweeted.

Anyone else remember that?

This was part of the agreement with ZTE:

quote:

On June 11, ZTE agreed to a settlement with the U.S. government that imposed heavy penalties: a $1 billion fine, another $400 million set aside in escrow to cover any future violations, and a pledge to replace its board and executive team by mid-July. ZTE must also allow U.S. inspections of its plants and public disclosure of its supply chain.

In May of 2019...Trump banned them for a year. Last month, he extended the ban.

Wow. You starting calling crickets 15 minutes after your request.

The article in the link I posted above is from May 2018.

Trump lifted the China sanctions in May 2018 to get an amusement park built by the Chinese across from his proposed hotel/golf course in Indonesia.

So I wasn't lying.

And if you claim I have lied before, then you're lying ... again.

You are full of shite.

Did you read the AP article I posted? It was from May 2018 when Trump lifted the sanctions.

Your article is from May 2020 saying that Trump was extending the sanctions that originated in May 2019 until May 2021.

There is nothing incongruous about those two documents. So you are not only full of shite, you are a stupid shite.

Here is a link from AP.

FWIW, I am not calling you a liar. The AP ran a story per your link. There are almost identical stories put forth by CNN, Huffpo, MSNBC, BBC etc.

It is almost like they are all aligned and pushing a narrative.

I get that ione could paint a picture of quid pro quo. If that is the allegation, then Trump put the squeeze on Huawei and ZTE (2 billion give or take just for ZTE), got his hotel approved, AND stiffed the CCP for 500 million.

That would truly be the “Art of the deal!

However, your ilk would have to do more than insinuate that Trump is guilty. Another impeachment would be political theater, but with what seemed like obvious corruption on the Dem side last time, it wouldn’t be politically expedient imho (especially relating to Biden in November). Most Americans in the middle saw what a sham it was. The sequel would be viewed with even more skepticism (and correctly so imho). So if that is where this is going, have at it. Bring on the farce part 2.

You mean like Jussie? Perhaps you mean like Bubba?

FWIW, I find you calling someone else a moron to be comedic gold.
