Lucinda Williams “Car Wheels on a Gravel Road” album. Perfect?

I would say that every song is at a minimum listenable. At a max excellent. No “filler” songs. Nothing she did prior or after comes close to it.

Question: "Right In Time" is about flicking the bean, right?

Possibly. Which is why I prefer the visual of Blaze Foley during “Drunken Angel” as opposed to that song. Or the Lake Charles guy (Clyde Buchanan?—I think Gary p Nunn mentioned him during his raucous rendition of “Public Domain” in a live album).

Lived in Houston and Austin in 2002-2003, Car Wheels, Essence, and World Without Tears were my highway music back and forth from BR to Hill Country..
That, and some Grand Champeen & Lil Cap'n Travis.

Gets better to me the longer I listen

Listened to that endlessly for about a year after it came out. Drunken Angel made me kind of horny.
ETA: reading the story behind her lyrics kind of ruins that last part; but I just liked her voice.

It's one of the few albums in the conversation. Top notch from beginning to end.

Named my last truck Lucinda because of that album.
