The term in this discussion should be “ Mississippi River Delta “.
It’s a different place than the “Mississippi Delta “.
Several people have confused them in this thread.

What facts are they ignoring?
Sea level is rising. Fact.
SELA is sinking. Fact
The fact that the levees are the biggest factor by far in this problem not climate change

The earth cools. The earth warms. Millions of years ago, the ice melted to such an extent that sea levels were 100 feet higher than they are now.

For 75% of the earth's history, the temperature of the planet was overall much warmer than it is today.
In fact, ice caps at both poles is historically a rare occurrence, having existed only about four or five times ever due to intermediate ice ages. Humans happened to evolve during a unique time when both poles had ice caps. The ice caps were much, much larger some 20 million years ago, and retreated to their current size some 10,000-25,000 years ago.
The earth may be returning to its more normal temperature, and there's nothing we can do to stop it.

They probably just don't know about this new advanced technology that's been developed to deal with such situations. It's called "piling up mud."
