13. New Orleans Pelicans: Tyrese Maxey (Kentucky, SG, freshman)

While teams have lost confidence in Maxey's ability to play point guard, many are still buying his scoring, despite poor shooting numbers.

he cant run a team and he cant shoot, so the pels will take at 13 with bey still on the board.

Not gonna lie, if the pels end up with a pick between 12 and 14, I’d take a stab at Precious Achiuwa if he were still on the board. I think his length and athleticism off the bench would give the pels a lot of flexibility. I believe he is skilled enough to play the 3 and 4 off the bench in spurts

precious is a good guess.

at 13
i want bey of villanova
or bolmaro. bolmaro huge upside. i could take bolmaro much higher.
bey just a solid guy.
hart lite.

it just steams me that they say maxey possesses no skill his position requires so pels take him.

He was hurt by the lack of cohesive offense and spacing in the Memphis offense. I think people will be surprised by how productive he is in the NBA.

weird dream last night.
We drafted Maxey and i was pissed that we couldn't get the pick before which was Craig Hodges. Weird dream.

There's a plethora of SF type guys that will be available when we pick, and we better take one.

Our roster has no one on it who can guard a good scoring wing/forward. Jrue and Hart do the best they can, but in a lot of cases they're giving up 3-4 inches and 40 pounds. I think getting someone who can do that this offseason is important.

I like Kenny Hustle, but I'm not counting on him as a core option.

This draft isn't that good. Maxey might be the best on-ball defender of any guard in the draft. His wingspan means he could easily guard 1 or 2. In a mediocre draft picking in the late lottery, I don't know how you don't like getting a likely solid rotational/situational guy. Your odds of hitting a home run are so low.

its against my religion to hire strong guards like maxey who cant shoot.

did you see the series philadelphia iverson vs lakers? phila started a stud defender guard eric snow who was terrible shooter. lakers sent him to the line in close games.

saints preserve us.

lonzo is already a liability at ft line.
not another please.

you know Maxey shot 83.3% from the free throw line right? I don’t really care for Maxey either but you’re making yourself look dumb

and that’s why teams may think he has a chance to develop. Can play good defense as well. Jaylen Brown short 29% from 3 in college. Now he’s shooting great.

This is very true. Main reason I want to move up if Okoro starts to slip down some. Would be a perfect 3 to develop behind Ingram and provide that wing D.
