Anyone get their house repainted using one of these companies/products? Pros/cons? What was the cost?

TIA

don`t know now, but when it first came out someone told me they wanted like $20,000 or $30,000.

when i looked into it the rino shield was just barely above 3x the cost of painting

for that reason i just repainted

this was about 5 years ago so maybe it has gotten cheaper

i would like to do the rino shield but only if the costs goes way down

OH HELL NO!

My neighbor had a two story redwood house that used RhinoShield. The wood rotted and they had a huge lawsuit against the company.

The company closed shop and reopened under another name. They eventually got a $50,000 settlement check. But it did not cover the cost nor the aggrivation/stress.
---------------

Note: I do have RhinoShield in my truck bed and it's been great.

Would not have it sprayed over wood siding. It's a somewhat plastic coating which will trap moisture in between it and the wood.

I am biased as I work for Sherwin Williams but it is a terrible product for the cost plus it fades prematurely (in addition to the previous comments regarded moisture). Our best product in my opinion is Duration paint in satin finish. You will get 40 years out of it if you do one soft wash a year. It is one of our more expensive paints but you get what you pay for. I will be getting my house painted using Duration.

Yes. We recommend Loxon brick and masonry primer before the Duration top coat. My beach house is coquina and that is the combo my painter is going to use.
