How Coronavirus impacts the draft

Forget about when they end up holding it, teams ability to do proper scouting, something we are hoping the Pels are good at now, will be pretty limited.
It sounds like we're back to Jeff Bower scouting techniques for this year

Sources: Several NBA teams are preparing to make their selections for the 2020 NBA Draft based on Skype interviews and prior in-person scouting. Many are moving forward with the expectation of no combine, no workouts, and no in-person interviews.

this draft is a crapshoot anyway.
based on the roster crunch, a weak draft and louzada coming in, they should try and trade out of the pick anyway.
maybe they could package it with salary and see about a decent big man to step right in for okafors spot
I wonder if this interruption of the season and the scouting means they’ll be more likely to re sign favors than before this

This is probably great for college basketball upperclassmen.

Is Didi really expected to be on the roster next season?

he was on a one year NBA futures contract in the NBL.
pels will hold his rights but they’d have to stash him somewhere again if he doesn’t come here. I can’t think of a good reason they’d do that unless they just didn’t like what they saw
a lot of draft and stash players overseas are under multi year contracts with buyouts and such. That’s not the case with louzada

As a defender he showed fantastic BB IQ in summer league. He’s basically a 2/3 version of Kenrich. Can he become useful enough on offense to earn a rotation spot is the main question.

right but on the question of whether he’s on the roster next year I think that’s a given. They’ll sign him to a 2 year contract with a 1 year guarantee I suppose
so that’s a roster spot.
Back to the draft I just don’t think they should have high hopes for getting a player worthy of a 4 year guarantee based on where they’ll pick in the 1st. I’d rather they continue to work the one and two year margins for one more year, at which time they’ll need to decide what to do with Ball and redick, and they’ll have opportunities to work their better draft assets
so that’s a roster spot.

Plenty of role players in this draft, so no point in trading out of it.

redick is already not able to defend well.
great shooter. hard worker.
if hes still got it during playoffs then sign him.
people seem to expect lonzo to change.
hes reckless with long passes and still cant make ft to save his soul.
imho
use that mid first on another pg. hope he pans out.
let favors walk.
cant shoot at all.
no 3. no ft. bye bye.
trajon can bring in another big euro. melli was b+.

take a look at tankathon.
they have tier one, 4 guys.
tier 2. similar.
and the rest.
i was looking for sf's for pels at current draft position.
you take a look and lets pretend the good and bad aspects are at least close.
who are your role players rated 12 to 25 you take one if available at pels pick?
what role?
