Dang, is this the one with Hathaway and Ben Afleck? The trailer looked like it had potential. Disappointing to see it was bad.
Can you elaborate, without being too detailed of spoilers, on what made it so bad?

I haven't seen it, but the thread made me curious - this is an adaptation of a 1996 British novel of the same name.
The premise:
quote:
A journalist stops her coverage of the 1984 U.S. Presidential election to care for her dying father.
Broadly, the critics seem to latch on to the title to make fun of it, "A film no one wanted", but apparently some pacing issues (too much and yet not enough packed in the 2 hours), and, I would suspect that "Bad" Affleck showed up (statistically more likely, anyway) and being the lead, dragged the film down. Hathaway isn't a guaranteed great performance, either, although she is way, way more consistent than Affleck who, frankly, should focus the rest of his career behind the camera.
But, not having seen it and not wanting to spoil it for you, appears to be somewhat morose, tear-jerking material that is poorly executed (The worst possible combination for a feature film - either be light or, if that's not on the table, be excellent. Neither is just like going to a poorly run funeral home after the death of a young person).

Just watched the 2 min. trailer and I could barely watch Anne Hathaway. Very unlikable.
Her and fat Ben Affleck.
Is Rosie Perez an arms dealer or under-cover CIA/arms dealer? I laughed just thinking it.

naw he's barely in it and in a fully supporting role
with a lot of Botox, i believe
this is 100% an Anne Hathaway vehicle

I watched it yesterday afternoon, and I couldn’t tell you the first thing about the plot today. There were a couple of scenes that I remember because I thought something might happen, but I legitimately have no idea what that movie was about

Well, with her it is a dice roll and they must have come up with snake eyes.
