And in an off-the-record lunch with news anchors in the lead-up to his State of the Union, Trump told those in attendance that Bolton is a "traitor" and that the White House was "going to try and block the publication of the book."
“After I leave office, he can do this. But not in the White House," he said.

Bolton is a warmongering scumbag. It's amazing he's become a savior of the left now.

If it entails classified info block it. If not, let it fly and let us decide.
Pretty simple actually.

John Bolton swore Iraq had WMD's. Did you believe him then?

So much for being “off the record”.

Bolton likes hardball...and Trump will play with him. Bolton can sell his Book, but he had damn well better follow the LETTER of the Law re Classified information in that Book...or he'll end up in Court or jail, like the Dems did to Stone, Manafort, Flynn et al. Gloves are coming off.
Trump took Bolton into his confidence...Bolton flexed his muscle and wanted to run the show. Trump overruled him, and sent him packing...with a grudge.
Bolton had best back down...or he can take on a tiger that is getting stronger by the day.

Day 17 post-Trump acquittal....still no Bolton subpoena from the House.
During those closing days of the trial hearing from Bolton was so pressing and urgent. And critical, right then. Trump, after all, was and is continuing to manipulate the election process, thus it had to be addressed IMMEDIATELY.
What gives??

davy: Bolton said he would NOT honor a subpoena to testify to the House. Why should the House take him to court to wait 18 months for a decision? Bolton volunteered to testify before the Senate.

It was amazing that he was a cabinet member of an supposed anti-interventionist and trumpets loved him until now.

I believe he said that he wouldn't voluntarily appear in the House, that he required an actual subpoena (which never came back then either - inquiry timeframe), and at the same time indicated he wouldn't honor such a subpoena prior to Mcgahn's subpoena case to being ruled on one way or another. I'm not certain what stage Mcgahn's litigation is in. So in other words, if Mcgahn's judge issued a ruling compelling his appearance before the House, then Bolton would follow in kind.
But ultimately, the exact same litigation would have occurred in the Senate that would have (or will) take place in the House. Bolton could take the oath, sit down in the hotseat, and it would be only at that point that the actual executive privilege would be asserted by Trump. So that litigation will or would have to happen regardless which chamber the subpoena comes from.
ETA....And I appreciate the polite and "professional" tone of your post. Just felt the urge to point that out. Thank you.
