Any recs on things to do in Orlando with kids? Not going to Disney. Experience the Orlando area.

Not sure on your kids age but take them canoeing at Wekiva Springs before the crowds arrive. A cool spring fed river that is as clear as a swimming pool. It will be hot enough that you'll want to be far from concrete.

Orlando City game if they are home. They have like a million lakes around Orlando I'm sure you can do some kayaking/canoeing in one of them.

Why? I mean the city itself is nice but unless you are planning on visiting the surrounding areas there is no point. You can go to Tampa and then go to Crystal River and see the manatees. The food in Orlando is horrible and overpriced. The Venezuelan and Cuban hole in the wall places are good though. But for the most part the food has been less than impressive since I’ve been here. Then again I was spoiled by Houston for most of my life. I’d recommend somewhere else on the coast if you really aren’t going to the theme parks
