How even at 10-2 LSU could make the CFP next year

SEC champions with close losses to Texas and @ UF. The Texas game would be long forgotten as an early season loss, and LSU would have just beaten UF in a rematch or a very strong UGA team.

ETA: I do think 11-1 is more likely. I’m guessing UF for the L at their place.

It's Feb 14th and you are talking about what record it will take to get into the playoffs next Jan.

Unless the balance of power drastically changes, the SEC Championship winner will always get an auto bid into the playoff.

A FL loss would be an Oct loss...hard to get over.
Coupled w a loss to TX which will not be ranked high at season's end....no

It also all depends on what the records of the winners of other conferences have.
