You have to feel pretty confident that Coach O is going to land a couple of strong contenders for the recently made available coordinator positions. He’s the kind of coach who hires good talent and leaves them the frick alone. By definition this is his coaching mantra. What up-and-coming or already established talent would turn down an opportunity to run a part of this program without interference? Of course there are a handful of established coaches that no one could pry loose… IE Brent Venables.… But we’re going to be just fine.

Exactly! O rarely makes the same mistake twice. There's a very good chance he'll get this hire right.

So we should amend your quoted statement to say O usually hires good talent, no?

What I said was that his coaching style lends itself to attract talent that can run their schemes without interference… unlike Les Miles. I did not say that every hire he makes is perfect arse hat. That being said and given our current status… I think will be fine. Go be miserable on your own time.

Man, the guy just coached a team to a national championship and now this happens. Coach O barely gets time to enjoy this and now he's got to start replacing coaches and players. I understand this can happen when a team wins an NC but I feel a little sad for Ed O.

No one is going to hit the bullseye every time. But, what coach O has been outstanding at is identifying problems and fixing them, and not waiting around to fix them. He's also shown he's not afraid of taking risks.

So your attempt to shite on him just shows that you are still wiping the shite off your face from the 15-0, greatest team of all time season we just had.

I think Canada happened before Coach O really understood what kind of offense he wanted. Now he knows exactly what he wants and has a play book and existing coordinator already here.

This is the thread title.

Just pointing out that it isn’t unreasonable to have some apprehension about the situation we are in.

Pointing out that hiring coordinators can be hit or miss, even for the best CEO type coaches out there, is “shitting on him”?

Loved every second of this season. Best in LSU or CFB history.
