How rare is a Marlin model 57-m(.22mag,lever action)?

I haven't been able to find any production numbers on these rifles.
The model 57,which was a .22 lever action,was made for 10 years,with a total production of 34,000,but they had a problem with aluminum receivers cracking,so many of these are gone.
The 57-m,had a steel receiver though,so they didn't have the same problem,and I am guessing that most are still out there,but how many is that?
I have one that is pretty rough,but operates like a dream.The stock has a slight crack,and has carving(not deep,I can probably sand that out) all over it.
All metal is in great shape,but slightly scratched up,no rust whatsoever.
Should I restore it,or leave it alone?
Just found a site,that says production on these was 64,000 or so,almost doubling that of the .22s.It's still not a huge production number.I guess,he question is: How many of these are still out there?
I don't remember seeing many of these,but I haven't always been the most attentive type person on the rimfire stuff.

I collect 22s and have never seen one in person after going to hundreds of shows and shops. Would love to have one

Thanks for replying. So it is probably pretty rare then,in your opinion? I don't remember ever seeing another one.
I can tell you,it's a heavy rifle,with some damn quality machine work to build it.Pretty impressive,compared to what we can buy these days,at a reasonable price.
Would you say it's a model that you have looked for?

Bluing is missing in some spots and the lever seems to stick sometimes. I would call it "fair shape". if you want I can provide pictures. I am not sure on a price, I am building a gun so I am up for trades as well.

That gun bears a striking resemblance to a 9622 Ruger, with the exception of the tube magazine. I have the Ruger in 22 mag.
I also collect 22s and have never seen the 57 and only a few of the Rugers.

I took it to the range a couple of years ago to see if the scope was still sighted in - shot a three round cloverleaf group off a bench rest at 100 yards with CCI Maxi Mags and zero cross wind. I certainly don't claim to to any kind of expert with a rimfire rifle, so I know this one is inherently accurate.
eta: I'm pretty sure mine doesn't have a serial number. I looked at the insurance schedule and it says "No serial number." Pulled rifle from gun safe and looked again - no serial number.

I did a little research since seeing this thread - Marlin didn't stamp serial numbers on these rifles until around 1968 (Federal law changes).

I just went look at my .22 lever action. It’s a Marlin 39-A.
