I recently got a free month of Xbox Game Pass and an currently downloading this along with Halo: MCC.
The trailers looked cool, ratings were alright, and it being from Obsidian carries some weight IMO.
What are the game boards thoughts?

it was pretty good, solid 3/5 for me. lots of missed opportunities. combat is not very good, and some of the skills are truly OP

Thats kind of what I was afraid of. "lots of missed opportunities" seems to be a common problem with new RPGs these days.

Combat is a bit repetitive and enemy variation is lacking, but definitely a good game.
Hopefully they get a bigger budget next game.

I think Expectations were a bit too high.
The game has a balance issue. Normal difficulty is basically story mode. Hardest is no fun with save games only available on the ship.
I would rate it a solid game. I had fun but towards the end, I was ready for it to be over.

I played about 5 hours and all I kept thinking about was playing more Fallout. So I took a break.

It was a great game. I spent like 50 hours on the story, but did a lot of the side quests. You can apparently finish it in 20 something minutes if you really want to lol.
It’s not worth $60 though. I wouldn’t pay more than $30 if I could do it again.

Good game and great bones for future games.
Think about how Mass Effect 1 was and then what it grew into with more money. That's what I see happening to this franchise.

It's amazing. I got it for free on Game Pass though. Maybe I'd feel different if I paid $60 for it.

I wouldn't say amazing. Early on, I might have thought that but it become too easy too quickly.
I did like the humor. It is a very polished and bug free game.
If you do all of the quests and search everywhere, then it is worth the money but.... there isn't much payoff for getting all the loot. Endgame was easy.

I liked it. it was fun. it was not a triple A classic but with game pass I'd suggest enjoying it and playing as many side quests as possible different ways
