Well, I'm not sure why I'm surprised, but of course you don't have a clue how voting in regards to the electoral college works
Every vote for a hopeless candidate, is a vote for the candidate most likely to win (in 2016, that was Hillary). Because there is no runoff, you essentially voted for that person to claim those electoral votes, by not voting for the person most likely to stop her
